The Centenary Camp will be one of the highlights of our special year in 2010. Were promising an international camp like youve never experienced before, creating special memories to last a lifetime.
Itll be the biggest UK guide camp ever with 5,000 girls on site. In addition, therell be up to 2,000 guides from all across the world, making this a truly international Centenary celebration.
The camp will be at Harewood House in North Yorkshire, the home of the Earl of Harewood. It was also the home of his mother HRH Princess Mary, The Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood, who became President of The Girl Guide Association in 1920. So not only is this stunning 200-year-old neo-classical mansion a fantastic backdrop for our camp, with acres of fabulous parkland, a stunning lake and a state-of-the-art Planetarium - it also has a rich guiding history too.
The planning team are promising a fantastic week with half a million hours of activities and opportunities for girls. Were really determined to make this a very special camp for everyone.
