Girlguiding UK is fast approaching its Centenary - we are about to enter the next chapter in the story of guiding.
All members of Girlguiding UK, from Rainbows to the Trefoil Guild will have many chances to be a part of this extra special year. The celebrations will begin across the country in September 2009. After a jam-packed year of once-in-a-lifetime adventures, projects, festivals, residential and above all, fun, we will join together for a fantastic finale event in October 2010.
Celebration plans are well under way at a national level and will provide the chance to learn about our rich and varied history in an interactive way. It will also give us the chance to celebrate the successes and achievements of Girlguiding UK over the past 100 years with members and friends of the organisation.
The plans for the Centenary are currently being finalised and it promises to be a landmark year full of surprises. We've got lots of events and opportunities planned that will enable us all to shout out about guiding in the 21st century and dream of what's in store for the next 100 years.
To find out what will be happening locally and nationally for the Centenary you can contact your County Centenary Champion. If you do not know who your champion is then please contact your County office or your District, Division or County Commissioner who will be able to put you in touch.
